Let it Spark!

Let it Spark!

The holiday season… Time for hot chocolate, warm clothes, snow, family and–Sparks!

Something that I absolutely love about the holiday season is the holiday makeup You get to wear glittery makeup and clothes. It’s like being a kid all over again. You get to celebrate the end of a year and the beginning of a new year with all of the Spark you wish to wear.

It can be quite challenging to decide what to buy during the holiday season, especially since you get bombarded with so many awesome and beautiful campaigns from all makeup brands. Fortunately, I got to try out a few and here is my favorite collection:

There is a shade of red for every woman

– Audrey Hepburn

I guess Chanel really agrees with Audrey Hepburn and decided to create a collection that focuses mainly on lips. I absolutely LOVED all 4 shades they came out with. Unfortunately, most are sold out already, but you can still find them online here.

This is such a beautiful red from the 2017 collection. If you don’t want to wear a RED red this will be perfect for you. The Rouge Allure Velvet is a beautiful formula that I have been wearing for a long time and I find it to be one of my favorites. It has a very good pigmentation and it really feels like velvet–soft and nice.  The packaging is different too–red!

But just in case you don’t find one you like from the Chanel Holiday 2017 collection, here are other shades of red that are available for you.

Once upon a holiday season many years ago, Chanel came up with this beautiful color. This has been my signature lipstick for many years already. It is not part of the Holiday Season 2017, but It such a beautiful color that definitely makes a statement–an elegant statement!

Chanel – Rouge Double Intensité Ultra Wear Lip Color – 47 DARING RED

If you are planning to kiss someone that night, I would suggest this formula. The name is very appropriate; this is for sure a daring red that looks amazing! It’s a long-lasting formula that dries very quickly. It’s a two-step process, first you apply the color and then you apply the Top Gloss Coat. This gloss helps hydrate your lips and adds shine without being sticky

A true, bold, and bright red. This lipstick is part of the permanent YSL collection, though this year YSL decided to feature this beautiful color in their 2017 Holiday collection. They also added some sparks to the packaging to make it more holiday-like. If you are looking for a true red, this is a great choice. This is a highly pigmented red, it glides like silk on the lips, feels very moisturizing and applies evenly and precisely.

orange based red lipstick

YSL Rouge Pur Couture – 1 LE ROUGE

Just opaque pure red –A Classic red. This lipstick is part of the permanent Dior Collection–obviously! Since they launched this shade it has become super popular and here’s why… It’s a high pigmented formula, that fades away evenly. It feels moisturizing and creamy, and the packaging is very classy and elegant.

Best Matte red lipstick

This lip gloss is part of the 2017 Holiday Collection; it’s a limited-edition gloss that gives you a mirror-like shine. You can wear this alone for a ‘not so-red’ look or put it on top of a matte red lipstick–this is my favorite way of using it! It gives you an amazing “Old Hollywood Glamour”, it’s super comfortable on the lips, and it’s non-sticky and very moisturizing.

We’ve already talked about holiday Spark, and this is the best way to add some spark to your lips. This is not a lip gloss; it’s considered to be a “top coat” for your lips, meaning… you can put it on top of any lipstick to add glitter. It will transform any lipstick into one fitting for the holiday season. . The glitter is very fine and sophisticated. It’s a limited edition one, so hurry up if you like it, because I don’t think it will be available very long.

Sometimes… it is all about the eyes

Shimmery eye shadows are very trendy, especially during the holidays. Here is my favorite eyeshadow for this 2017 season.

I have been wearing this type of eyeshadow for a while. I have been in love with it ever since it came out and I noticed how long it lasts and how easy it is to apply. This eyeshadow is part of the new 2017 Holiday Collection, and it a beautiful and classy color that glides smoothly and effortlessly. I love buying things that I can wear all year long, and this is definitely one with which I’ll be able to do exactly that! No wonder they used this eyeshadow on the model for the ad campaign. ($ 36 USD).

Red lips and rosy cheeks… Or in this case orangey cheeks. This is the newest color launched and part of the 2017 Holiday Season. It’s a super highly pigmented blush that will last you forever. A little bit goes a long way… It’s a young and fresh color that looks good on almost everyone. Just be careful with the quantity you put on.
